I Walked on Fire… I had to!

I Walked on Fire… I had to!

I don’t know if it's this way for you, but most of the really successful people I know are somewhat screwed up. When you get to know them really well, they will tell you about their emotional baggage… and most of it comes under the umbrella of fear.

Think about the #1 most important attribute of success. It’s the willingness to try things, and, of course, the ability to follow through. What stops most people from trying things and following through? FEAR.

Now, they likely won’t admit it and no one is going to try and shame them into it. Nobody is passing judgment on FEAR.

What we can pass judgment on is how it holds us back. It keeps us from meeting people we want to meet. It stops us from buying things we want.

Look at the successful people you know. They handle fear differently than others.

This was painfully obvious to me… and I didn't know what to do about it. So I had to do something and, for me, that something was Walk on Fire.

I was reading Success magazine one Sunday morning while sitting in my condo, sipping a cup of coffee. I flipped the page and there was this big guy, wearing a 3-piece suit and his pants rolled up to his knees.

Some dude named Tony Robbins… I’d never heard of him. But, it got my attention and I read what it had to say.

Tony Robbins was teaching people how to turn FEAR into Power. Hmm, that could be useful. It went on to say that he’d taken 35,000 people on this experience he calls a FIRE WALK.

I thought to myself: I really need to do that. But, I never said it out loud for fear someone would think I was a loon…

A couple of weeks later, a friend of mine, Mark said, “Randy, a guy named Tony Robbins is coming to Dallas. He is going to do the Fire Walk; we have to go.” I was thinking; we don’t have to go, but maybe it’s a good idea…

I went.

I’ll tell you what happened in my next blog post.

In the meantime, use the comment section below and tell me how you've dealt with fear, how it's held you back and how you've gone past it.

    Randy,
The fear of failure for me has given me the drive to push myself out of my comfort zone in sales.
    Good to hear from you.
